Product Description

The Hydrotech Economy Reverse Osmosis system is WQA approved and certified to NSF Standard 58 for drinking water WQA goldseal.png

With the quality of drinking water being questioned in many states across the country, people are looking for alternative sources of drinking water that doesn't create plastic bottle waste. Reverse osmosis drinking water systems provide the most convenient and economical solution. Neatly stored under the counter, reverse osmosis systems provide you with clean and delicious water right from it's own dedicated tap.

We also recommend pairing your RO with a Calcite filter for just $29. The calcite slowly dissolves into water, adding minerals back to the water and raises the pH. Our in-house tests showed water that post-RO filtration had a pH of 6.4 and after passing through the pH Neutralizing Post Filter, raised the pH to 7.6 creating refreshing, delicious, healthful water.

FAQs:

Can I install this myself?

Here is an overview on how to install an under-sink RO from our friends at DIY Network

Why should I choose reverse osmosis instead of a basic carbon based system?
Reverse Osmosis offers the best filtration on the market today. Carbon based systems cannot remove stubborn inorganics like Arsenic, Fluoride, Nitrates, and Pharmaceuticals.

I've heard that Reverse Osmosis systems waste a lot of water. Is that true?
No, not as much as people are lead to believe. The water-to-rinse ratio is about 3 to 1 for our systems. Most cities reclaim the water these days meaning the water going to rinse is being directed back to the water district to be treated and recirculated.

Is it true that Reverse Osmosis systems remove even the good minerals?
Yes, that is true. To add the beneficial minerals back in we offer post calcite filters available that are easily installed.  This will add the healthy minerals back to the water, providing delicious and healthy water for your family.

Can I tee off this system and run a line to my refrigerator?

Absolutely, you can simply tee off the outgoing tubing and run a line to your refrigerator and or ice maker. The owner's manual includes instructions on how to properly connect them.

Filtration Information:

Model E50TFC-3NSF is tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI 58 for the reduction of TDS.

Combines sediment and carbon filtration with Reverse Osmosis for theWQA Gold Seal Certified highest quality drinking water right at your sink. Removes chlorine, lead, pesticides, nitrates, fluoride, Chromium 6, VOCs, arsenic, cysts and many other contaminants.

Reverse Osmosis is also known as hyperfiltration, because it is the most effective form of fine filtration that exists today.  Many premium water bottling companies use Reverse Osmosis to filter their water for sale.  And now, you can have this bottled water quality right in your home - without the bottles!  RO has the greatest range of contaminant removal because the pores in the membrane that filter the water are very, very tiny.

All of our Reverse Osmosis systems offer TFC (Thin Film Composite) membranes which are highly effective vs. CTA (Cellulose Triacetate).  The TFC membrane used in conjuction with sediment and carbon block filtration, yields the most powerful combination of filtration for your filtration dollar.

Reverse Osmosis is also the only treatment technology known to remove pharmaceuticals from drinking water. Although many point of use devices contain activated carbon, the carbon membrane does not remain in contact with water long enough to sufficiently remove pharmaceutical remnants.

We also recommend pairing your RO with a Calcite filter.
