Top Seller for Private Well Water or Municipal Water When Bacteria Such as Coliform or e-Coli is a Concern.

The Pura Filter UV20-3
is a multi-stage well water treatment filter and whole house water purification unit that provides filtered and purified water throughout your entire home to ensure that not only your drinking water is safe from many pollutants and micro-organisms, but that your cooking and bathing water is also purified.

The well water treatment system includes a pre-filter for sediment removal down to 5 micron and to extend the life of the carbon filter. The carbon stage filters harmful chemicals like chlorine, VOC's, pesticides, herbicides, benzene, PCE and more. The Ultraviolet lamp has a kill rate of 99.99% for micro-organisms including bacteria and viruses sometimes found in water supplies.

The 10 micron carbon block may be upgraded to a 0.5 micron carbon block to also filter cysts (such as cryptosporidium and Giardia). Cysts are more commonly found in surface waters and are not very well affected by UV light due to their outer shell. At 3 - 10 microns in size, filtering these are easy with the 0.5 mic. cartridge option.  (Please allow an additional 10 days shipping time for the 0.5 micron option.)

Pura UV20-3 Whole House Water Purification Features:

PURA Whole House Water Purification Systems from PuriTeam all have a patented ultraviolet stage, with carbon and sediment well water treatment filtration options for those who want to also filter their water. It is a scientific fact that Ultraviolet rays have the ability to destroy living micro-organisms under the right circumstances.

ULTRAVIOLET SYSTEM:
- Chemical-Free
- Pure and Natural like the Sun

The UV lamp in PURA Water Systems look like fluorescent lamps. However, the UV lamp operates using a low pressure mercury vapor that produces the UV energy.

To allow lamps to maintain their operating temperature of 104ƒ Fahrenheit, a quartz sleeve is used to isolate the lamp from cooler water. This sleeve must be kept clean to allow the maximum exposure of UV energy to reach the water. The Sleeve should be cleaned every three months.

The PURA ultraviolet systems kill bacteria and viruses up to 16,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter, each UV bulb will need to be changed every 12 months to ensure optimal performance. The UV light will not burn out and therefore it will glow when the microwatts have fallen under 16,000 microwatts. We are happy to send our Customers e-mail reminders keeping them on track with regular maintenance. 1. (add-on to previous) 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Aug 2012

I almost forgot to mention that I chose the .5 micron unit because of suspected cysts in the water.

  2. Eliminate Creepy City Water-Grove City, Ohio 5 Star Review

Posted by on 6th Aug 2012

While I have city water in my home, I chose this 3 stage well water unit with UV light, because we have symptoms of "critters" and bacteria in the water. Since living here, my rosacea has gone crazy, and every water source smells like mold. Mold also grows super fast in the toilets. Lastly, the water tasted terrible. Since installing this unit, my face has improved, (waiting to see if it will even get better,)as a result of clean topical and ingested water, and the mold growth and smell is starting to disappear. I also want to mention the great customer service here. My plumber needed some coaching on the installation, and the support was prompt and very friendly. I heartily recommend this filter and this company. Great experience!

  3. Great tasting water 4 Star Review

This system has been a great fit. Never need to by bottled water. Water is clear, clean, crisp and refreshing.

  4. Works Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Jun 2011

Installed this unit in our business also three years ago, and has preformed flawlessly.

  5. The system is great but replacing the UV light is tricky 4 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Jun 2011

Even though I have public water, I feel much more confident in the water I drink with this system. Proof is when I change the filter. But I agree with the previous review. It is difficult to change the UV light and I have broken it previously also. Still, I think the system is great.

  6. Have used this system for 10 years, works well. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Jun 2011

I have used the Pura UV20-3 system to remove organisms from my tap water for 10 years and referred a number of people. This system with the .5 micron carbon block filter and a 5 or 1 micron
pre-filter has done a good job of purifying our local tap water so it is safe to shower, clean vegetables, and brush teeth with. If your water is dirty, you may need to change cartridges more often than recommended.

  7. Good except when replacing the UV light 3 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jun 2011

the carbon filter and the spiral wound filter work great and are easy to replace.

However, the UV light is of poor design. Trying to replace the light or the small tube that surrounds the light is a real challenge. I've broken three of the tubes just trying to install the UV light.

I suggest the unit be redesigned to make the replacement or installation of the UV light as easy as the associated filters in this unit.
Basically, the crystal tube that surrounds the UV Lamp is too delicate.

One more thing. In the winter, the company does not provide guidance for a heater that could be used to keep the filters from freezing. Some of us have built an insulated Stainless Steel box that fits on the outside of our house and attaches to the wall in an inconspicous place. The whole house filter fits inside this box.

Some of us have installed a tape heater inside the box to keep the unit thawed out. I suggest installing a ten inch silicon tape heater that attaches to the bottom of the box. The heater only operates below 40F. This winter it worked really well, even when the OAT went below 15F degree, for two days, at my house in Tucson. Tape heaters can be found on the Internet. They can be secured to the box with some Red ATV hi temp silicon sealant. Find this at an autoparts or hardware store.

  8. Great system for whole house water catchment 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jun 2011

We catch our water at our house in Northern Arizona. After 8+ years of service, the UV-20 system has never disappointed. Water is clear, pure, and tests better than city water at the lab. Puriteam's customer support is superb and they have the best filter prices and service available.

  9. Great Product!!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jun 2011

I purchased this product when we kept having issues with contaminants in our well water. It gave me piece of mind knowing that the water my family was drinking was safe. I would definitely recommend this product.
