Top Seller for Private Well Water or Municipal Water When Bacteria such as Coliform or e-Coli is a Concern.

The Pura UV20-3
is a multi-stage water filter and purifier is designed for whole home use, providing filtered and purified water throughout your entire home to ensure that not only your drinking water is safe from many pollutants and micro-organisms, but that your cooking and bathing water is also purified.

The system includes a pre-filter for sediment removal down to 5 micron and to extend the life of the carbon filter. The carbon stage filters harmful chemicals like chlorine, VOC's, pesticides, herbicides, benzene, PCE and more. The Ultraviolet lamp has a kill rate of 99.99% for micro-organisms including bacteria and viruses sometimes found in water supplies.

The 10 micron carbon block may be upgraded to a 0.5 micron carbon block to also filter cysts (such as cryptosporidium and Giardia). Cysts are more commonly found in surface waters and are not very well affected by UV light due to their outer shell. At 3 - 10 microns in size, filtering these are easy with the 0.5 mic. cartridge option.

PURA Water Systems from PuriTeam all have a patented ultraviolet stage, with carbon and sediment filtration options for those who want to also filter their water. It is a scientific fact that Ultraviolet rays have the ability to destroy living micro-organisms under the right circumstances.

ULTRAVIOLET SYSTEM:
- Chemical-Free
- Pure and Natural like the Sun

The UV lamp in PURA Water Systems look like fluorescent lamps. However, the UV lamp operates using a low pressure mercury vapor that produces the UV energy.

To allow lamps to maintain their operating temperature of 104ƒ Fahrenheit, a quartz sleeve is used to isolate the lamp from cooler water. This sleeve must be kept clean to allow the maximum exposure of UV energy to reach the water. The Sleeve should be cleaned every three months.

What is the Filter Maintenance for the UV20-3?

Change the pre-filter every 3 months or as needed.  (UV20SD5)

UV Lamp once a year. (Lamp #20)

Carbon blocks every 6 months or as needed (UV20CB10 or UV20CB0.5)

Quartz sleeve (20") should be cleaned when filters are changed and replaced only if damaged or cannot be cleaned.

Annual Supply is available at a substantial savings.

Q: Can this system be used to treat iron?

A: No, all secondary contaminates including Iron, Sulfur, and Manganese must be pre-treat for because they will prematurely clog the filters used in this system. If you have any of these click here (provide link to FTP) for information on iron, sulfur, and manganese removal systems

Q: Can this system be used on City treated water?

A: Yes, this system will remove Chlorine and add extra bacteria protection.

Q: Is it necessary to have sediment and carbon filtration combined with UV?

A: Yes, removing sediments and VOC’s prior to the Ultra Violet light stage enables the UV light to penetrate the bacteria. Sediments and VOC’s can inhibit the UV light's ability to kill bacteria and viruses.

The PURA ultraviolet systems kill bacteria and viruses up to 16,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter, each UV bulb will need to be changed every 12 months to ensure optimal performance. The UV light will not burn out and therefore it will glow when the microwatts have fallen under 16,000 microwatts. We are happy to send our Customers e-mail reminders keeping them on track with regular maintenance. Following is a list of Bacteria, Viruses, and Yeast that will be killed with all of our PURA Ultraviolet systems:

CYSTS – Very Important – must choose .5 micron carbon
Cysts normally cannot be
killed with UV, but are
removed with a sub-micron
filter such as EPCB filter by
PURA.Cysts include
Giardia Llamblia and
Chryptosporidiu
Note that .5 micron carbons will hinder flow rates by 2-4 gpm.

Dimensions:     25" x 5 1/2" x 17

NPT:                    3/4" inlet/outlet.

Flow rate:           8 - 10 gpm (10 mic), 5 - 7 gpm (0.5 mic.) International voltages available

Minimum Height Requirement: You will need at least 25" clearance both above and below the system once installed. 75" total overall height needed.

Pricing:

UV20-3         with a 10 micron carbon filter $589.00
