Pura UV Water Filters can be used on any water source that contains bacteria. These ultraviolet water treatment systems are most popular for well water however some municipal water companies have experienced a breakdown in treatment exposing residents to bacteria. ATTENTION WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENTS If you have received a boil water notice from your water treatment company we would recommend installing an ultraviolet treatment system with a .5micron carbon block. With the presence of Cryptosporidium & Giardia you need a less than 1 micron filtration to catch them. Due to having a hard shell it is hard for the ultra violet light to kill them. This set-up will catch the Cysts and kill any bacteria that may be present. Following is a breakdown of which system to choose: Pura UV20-3 – for homes with up 2 1/2 baths – these Pura water filters provide up to 8 GPM with .5 micron carbon block (be sure to choose the .5 micron option) Pura UVBB-3 – For homes up to 5 baths – Pura water filters provide up to 12 GPM with .5 micron carbon block (be sure to choose the .5 micron option)
These systems are listed below.
