1 Million Gallons of Filtration What are the unsurpassed features of the PurHome X-1000? The filtration design is like no other.  We utilize the Vortech® tank that lifts the media off the bottom of the tank to maintain high flow rates.  In addition, it evenly disburses the water through the media for maximum contact time and maximum filtration.  And, because we use an upflow design, the water flows upward which also prevents the possibility of water channeling and prevents filter media from packing.

Compare the PurHome X-1000 to the competition: chart-header.jpgleft-arrow.png

In addition to the Vortech® tank and upflow design, The X-1000 features the following 6 stages of filtration:   Cutaway_PurHomeX1000New.png

Q: How can the PurHome X-1000 last  for 10 years? A. We use a media called KDF55 in the second stage of this system that is designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals and prolongs the life of carbon by 300%. KDF55 is bacteria inhibiting which means bacteria cannot grow in its presence. The PurHome X-1000 also incorporates three different types of carbon based media’s which focus on Chloramines and VOC removal. This filtering combination provides long lasting filtration.

Q: What is KDF55 media? A: KDF55 is an electrostatic media specifically designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals. Using KDF55 with carbon eliminates the need for backwashing saving water and electricity. KDF55 is an NSF (National Science Foundation) certified water filtration media that is used in Hospitals, Restaurants, Municipal Water Treatment Facilities, and Homes across the United States.

Q: How do I know when the media inside the tank needs replacing? A: Chlorine/Chloramine breaking through is a good indicator to gauge the systems performance and we are happy to provide chlorine/chloramine test strips upon request. The rule of thumb is if chlorine is breaking through so are other contaminates.

Q: Will the PurHome X-1000 remove Fluoride?

A: No, the PurHome X-1000 is not designed to remove Fluoride; however the KDF55 media used in this system has shown a reduction of about 60% however that is not high enough to make removal claims. To completely remove the Fluoride we recommend a nano type of filtration only found in reverse osmosis systems. Fluoride is not harmful when bathing and therefore removing it from the drinking only is the most popular method of treatment. For “super purified” water removing virtually every organic and inorganic contaminant including the Fluoride, we recommend our Hydrotech Push Button monitoring reverse osmosis system under your kitchen sink. This is commonly paired when using a whole house specialized treatment system. We use a high quality one-piece manifold system and it comes with a water quality monitor. You will find information at this link:

Removing fluoride from water can be harmful to health of teeth.  You can read more about the controversy surrounding fluoride on our blog at puriteam.com/blog

A: We use an NSF certified Vortech tank that is made of a Poly-glass material. We provide a Chrome Jacket Sleeve that slides over the Vortech tank for appearance only, the water is held by the Vortech tank underneath the chrome jacket.

Q: What contaminates are filtered?

The PurHome X-1000 features 6 stages for maximum filtration to filter chlorine and chlorine by-products like THMs as well as chloramine, lead and other heavy metals, VOCs and SOCs including pesticides, herbicides, benzene, MTBE, and much more. Great Whole House Filter

Posted by William Melewski on August 7, 2019

Received product promptly and received a follow-up call to see if all was okay. Installation was simple, however, when screwing the valve assembly onto the tank it needs to be just a little more that hand tight or it will leak. Our water had a distinct taste of chlorine prior to installation. Afterwards no taste at all. Have had installed about 1 month now and it is working perfectly. I definitely would recommend to others.

Great system

Posted by Al on May 16, 2019

After doing a lot of research on whole house system we decided on the X-1000. Our system has been installed for just over two weeks now and we could not be happier with the results. If you have basic plumbing skills it is a fairly easy and straightforward installation and if you have any problems the customer/technical support is outstanding. Aside from the benefit of having filtered water for drinking from every faucet in the house, the thing we like most is that we no longer have to contend with the chlorine and chlorine by-products from our city water supply. We’ve noticed this with the shower and with clothes washing. Also, there was no drop in water pressure after installing the system. I would highly recommend this system to anyone contemplating installing a whole house water filter system.

very satisfied

We have drinkable water!!

Posted by Steven Wood on November 30, 2017

It is difficult to choose a whole house filter. There are many, there is so much information on the internet to sort through. Your web site brought it all together. The filter has been installed for a month or so and we no longer have the need for bottled water. Thanks for the X 1000

Great water quality!

Posted by Vaheh Oganesyan on July 5, 2017

The system was in use less than a week, so cannot comment on durability. However, water quality after filter is as good as bottled one. Puriteam could have added few water test strips to visualize the purity.

A satisfied customer of the PuriTeam x-1000.

Posted by Robert on July 10, 2013

Purchased the PurHome X-1000 Hi Capacity Whole House Water Filter mid-2012 and am a satisfied customer. It has made a big change in the quality of our city water coming into the house. Not wasting water due to no back flushing is a great plus. I would highly recommend the X-1000 from PuriTeam. After several phone calls to PuriTeam and was well pleased with the help they provided, I got a friend of mine who was retired from doing plumbing to help me install the X-1000. Have enjoyed the taste of the water ever since. It was well worth the investment.

Wonderful Water At Last!

Posted by Scott on July 2, 2013

I’ve had the filter for three years now. It was installed by a contractor so I can’t speak to the installation process. But it is a joy to have the taste and smell of the chlorine or chloramine out of the water, not to mention the bad stuff that I couldn’t taste. Also, before I chose this product I called the company and the customer service was top notch.

What an improvement

Posted by on July 2, 2013

After installation our water is now drinkable. We have city water and moving from a house with well water we could not stand the taste of the chlorinated water. Within days after having the sytem installed we are now enjoying the tap water for everything. Even shower feel better

Self Installed

We installed it ourselves. Any questions we had we answered by the qualified staff when we called. My shower is so much nicer and no chlorine gas when I get water from the tap!
